IdeaUp! is an annual idea competition organized by Startup Salzburg in cooperation with EdTech Austria. Do you have an idea for the future of learning?

Then the IdeaUp! idea competition is just right for you! Whether you’ve just sketched out an EdTech idea or you’re already close to market entry – all stages of innovation are welcome in this competition.

Once again this year, there will be a special prize for the best EdTech idea. EdTechs from all over Austria are invited to submit their ideas. Submissions are open until December 13, 2025, and the winners will be announced in January 2026 during an award ceremony. Dont’t be shy and apply!

The time has come – the four-month EdTech Austria Fellowship will start its second round in spring 2026 with the aim of supporting those interested in EdTech in Austria in the development, testing, and validation of innovations in the EdTech sector.

We rely on partnerships and cooperation to combine existing strengths. This event is for you if you…:

• …you are interested in EdTech or are already pursuing an early business idea and are looking for support in developing, initially testing, and validating your innovation.
• … are part of an existing start-up program and regularly support EdTech-related start-ups, or would like to stimulate idea generation formats in this area.
• …you are a specialist or manager with relevant expertise in EdTech and enjoy sharing your knowledge and network as a mentor in order to provide the best possible support to the fellowship participants so that their ideas can be put into practice.
• …you are engaged with innovative educational ideas and have access to potential target groups in order to validate innovations together and gather valuable user feedback.

We get to know each other and analyze your business idea together in a 1:1 coaching session (duration: 30 minutes). Whether you only have a vague initial idea or already possess a perfectly elaborated business plan, it doesn’t matter: we’ll figure out with you where your idea currently stands in its development.

We offer an EdTech consultation day every penultimate or last Thursday of the month. To provide you with the best possible advice, we need some information in advance about your startup idea.Please fill out the initial information form (Word download) and send it along with your registration to info@edtechaustria.at

Universität für Weiterbildung Krems, Krems an der Donau, Niederösterreich

The EDU|days, organized by the University College of Teacher Education Lower Austria, the University for Continuing Education Krems, and many partners, is a conference for teachers of all subjects who want to critically reflect on and further develop teaching and learning in the digital age. The event targets educators from Austria and neighboring countries. All information about formats, submission of contributions, and the program can be found on the website.

Tip: If teachers submit contributions about how your EdTech product is used in the classroom, participation is free of charge! (If the company itself submits the contribution, participation fees apply.)
Submissions are open until January 16, 2026.

Stockholm, Sweden and Oslo, Norway

Sweden and Norway are among the most innovative countries in Europe, consistently ranking in the top 5 of the European Innovation Scoreboard (EIS). Both nations demonstrate how differently education policy can be shaped and where the intersections between digital progress and analog learning can be found. Plenty of great reasons to join this learning journey in April 2026. We’d be delighted to have you with us!

This learning journey is part of the go-international initiative in cooperation with EdTech Austria.

Trade Fair Venue Karlsruhe, Germany

LEARNTEC, Europe’s leading trade fair for digital education innovations, will open its doors again in 2026. ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA is organizing an Austrian group stand, with EdTech Austria as a cooperation partner. Members benefit from special WKO rates: 4 m²: €2,100 | 6 m²: €3,300 | 9 m²: €5,100 (all prices excl. VAT) The package includes booth space, equipment, support, and 12 months of online presence. Target group: companies offering solutions for e-learning and knowledge management.
