ideaUP! is an annual ideas competition organised by StartUp Salzburg, which offers creative minds from Salzburg and the surrounding areas the chance to submit their ideas and win exciting prizes. Whether you are developing a new technology or have come up with a revolutionary business concept, whether your idea is still in its infancy or you are a start-up about to enter the market – all ideas are welcome!

And NEW: this year there is also a special track with a special prize for EdTech ideas!

The submission is open until the 15th of December 2024 and the winners will be announced in an award ceremony in January 2025. Don’t be shy and apply!

Bielefeld, Germany

The EdTech Next Summit is taking place in Bielefeld for the 3rd time. It is the industry get-together for the German education technology and EdTech scene. This is where the industry exchanges ideas, cooperations are forged, investments are made clear and the latest trends are discussed.

The award ceremony for the Austrian-German preliminary decision for the GESAwards, the world’s largest EdTech startup event, which is organized in partnership with EDUvation and EdTech Austria, will also take place there.

Interpädagogica is Austria’s trade show for educators and decision-makers in the education sector and provides informative insights into the entire education system, from early childhood education to lifelong learning. EdTech Austria will once again be represented with a group stand at this year’s Interpädagogica, giving 4 members the opportunity to present themselves to the professional audience and visitors. FH Salzburg, Campus Urstein, Austria

Homecoming Startups 2024 is an event where you can gain exclusive insights into the world of multimedia and gaming startups. In addition to exciting experience reports from successful founders, new games from students of the FH Salzburg can be tried out at the Pixel Playground and contacts to the Salzburg gaming scene can be established while playing and networking together. EdTech Austria (EDTA) will also be there and will present the EDTA Fellowship, which starts in spring 2025 and is aimed at start-ups in the gaming sector with an educational approach, among others. Hybrid: Zürich, Switzerland + remote

The bitmark Hackathon 2024 – Together for Interoperability brings together a global community of participants from diverse backgrounds in learning content and EdTech. Learning content publishers will present their unique interoperability challenges. Hackers will then have 24 hours to develop working prototypes and solutions to improve interoperability using the bitmark standard. The bitmark hackathon is also a platform to build future partnerships, foster collaboration and drive technology integration and standards adoption.

As a trade fair, didacta provides comprehensive insights into the entire education sector, from early childhood education to school and extracurricular education through to vocational training and continuing education. South Korea

The Austrian Foreign Trade Centre Seoul, in cooperation with the WKÖ Department for Education Policy and EdTech Austria, invite you to a learning trip to South Korea on the topic of  The Future of EdTech – A look into the future of education. Experience innovative educational concepts, digital classrooms and the first textbook based on artificial intelligence (AI). In addition to model schools, the programme will also include visits to innovative companies and exchanges with education experts.

Messe Karlsruhe, Germany

LEARNTEC is Europe’s largest trade fair for digital education in schools, universities, and the workplace and will take place for the 32nd time in 2025. The Austrian AußenwirtschaftsCenter München is also planning an Austrian group stand at LEARNTEC in 2025 again. As a cooperation partner, EdTech-Austria offers a price discount of EUR 300.00 net to every Austrian company participating in the group stand that is a member of EdTech-Austria or will become a member of EdTech Austria by the time of registration. Salzburg Congress

In 2025 the EdTech scene will meet again in Salzburg. Look forward to inspiring keynotes, exciting panels, interactive workshops and a colourful mix of educational technologies to try out! Another highlight is the awarding of the OeAD “Learning Apps” quality seal, which will take place again next year as part of the summit.
