Sweden and Norway are among the most innovative countries in Europe, consistently ranking in the top 5 of the European Innovation Scoreboard (EIS). Both nations demonstrate how differently education policy can be shaped and where the intersections between digital progress and analog learning can be found.

This learning journey is part of the go-international initiative in cooperation with EdTech Austria.

Trade Fair Venue Karlsruhe, Germany

LEARNTEC, Europe’s leading trade fair for digital education innovations, will open its doors again in 2026. ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA is organizing an Austrian group stand, with EdTech Austria as a cooperation partner. Members benefit from special WKO rates: 4 m²: €2,100 | 6 m²: €3,300 | 9 m²: €5,100 (all prices excl. VAT) The package includes booth space, equipment, support, and 12 months of online presence. Target group: companies offering solutions for e-learning and knowledge management.

In a world of seamless AI integration, we risk losing the most important part of learning: the productive friction. If AI takes over not only writing but also thinking and emotional regulation for students, we face the threat of a generation of “functional illiterates”—capable of reading but unable to grasp deeper meaning. This talk explores why we must consciously build in “productive friction” in the classroom and in EdTech development when using AI to ensure agency and autonomy. A plea for AI tools that challenge people rather than merely relieving them of work.

“Changemaker Market Day – When Children Become Entrepreneurs” is an innovative educational project being held in Salzburg for the second time this year. It gives around 400 elementary school students the opportunity to bring their own product ideas to life during an interactive market day and to present their booths with great enthusiasm.
